Etowah River Woodturners is a diverse group of people, of all ages, genders, and skill sets who enjoy creating distinctive projects on the lathe. Our club focuses on a number of themes including member skill development, charity projects, and generally advancing the art of woodturning while having fun!


Meetings are held at 6:30PM on the first Thursday of each month.

 

Our meeting place - Cherokee County Senior Center, 1001 Univeter Rd., Canton, GA.

 

Guests are always welcome, so come visit our club!

Discover Woodturning

Woodturning is the craft of using the wood lathe with hand-held tools to cut a shape that is symmetrical around an axis of rotation. Like the potter’s wheel, the wood lathe is a simple mechanism which can generate a variety of forms limited only by the imagination of the artist or craftsperson.

Beginners

It’s not that difficult. You can learn to creatively, safely make beautiful turned objects from wood. The members of Etowah River Woodturners can help show you how and support you every step of the way. As avid turners ourselves, we love to share what we love — woodturning.
